FED: Convicted terrorist has conviction and sentence upheld
Convicted terrorist FAHEEM KHALID LODHI has lost his appeal against both his conviction
and sentence on terror charges.
The 37-year-old's serving a maximum 20 years for planning to commit a terrorist act.
A NSW Supreme Court jury last year convicted him of acting in preparation for terrorism
.. by seeking prices for chemicals capable of making explosives.
He was also found guilty of possessing detonators .. poisons .. instructions for making
explosives .. and of buying two maps of the national electricity grid.
LODHI challenged his conviction on the three charges .. as well as his jail term.
NSW Court of Appeal Justices GRAHAM BARR amd DEREK PRICE .. and Chief Justice JIM SPIGELMAN
have today dismissed the appeal.
They've upheld LODHI'S conviction and maximum 20 year sentence.
