Vic: Mass dance to open Melbourne Festival
The world's biggest public production of legendary dance routine Singin' in the Rainwill open this year's Melbourne International Arts Festival.
Thousands of people are expected to don raincoats and gumboots at Federation Squareon October the 9th to learn the dance immortalised by GENE KELLY in the film of the samename.
Afterwards, dancers can watch a digitally remastered version of the 1960s musical onFederation Square's big screen television.
The opening night aptly sets the scene for the festival's theme of Body, where festival-goersare taken on a journey through dance, film, art and song.
Every night of the 17-day festival, the public can learn new dance routines and a similarly-themedmovie will be screened at Federation Square after each class.
