Vic: Snow falls in ski resort

Victorian ski resorts have received their first significant snowfalls for the year.

Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster DEAN STEWART says snow has fallen at Mt Hotham,
Mt Buller and Falls Creek.

Mr STEWART says snowfalls in April aren't unusual.

Buller Ski Lifts spokeswoman SHARON RAINSBURY says Mt Buller has received about 30cm of snow.

Meanwhile, Melbourne has got a soaking, with more than half the average April rainfall
bucketing down on the city.

The city centre got 41mm of rain and some suburbs got 60mm.
